Alta alta va la luna

　　- A Turkish Sephardic Love-Song

　　Alta alta va la luna

　　cuando empeza amanecer.

　　Hija hermosa sin ventura

　　nuna llegue a nacer.

　　Aman !

　　los pajaricos del cielo

cantan debajo el arbol de flor

Alli se asentan los que sufren del amor.

　　Aman !

　　Mi redondas montanas altas

　　llevadme onde el mi amor.

En sus brazos caere’ despues morire’.

　　Aman !

　　Mares hondas montanyas altas

　　hasta la rosa destinyera

　　Morir es de los cielos

　　esparticion no hubiera.

　　Aman !

　　Translation, etc.

The moon rises up high and the birds are singing

O bring me back to my love you mountains

i want to die in the depth of the sea.

give a rose to the cloudly sky

　　to find love
